“Digital design has become one of the fastest growing industries and design has become no longer just something we see, but something we experience on devices” – Beau Agency
Digital Design vs Graphic Design
It is undeniable that graphic design predates digital design by a great deal and serves as its basic. In the beginning, graphic designers mostly created static pictures for books, newspapers, magazines, pamphlets, and other print materials.
Whereas digital design includes movement through things like animation, interactive applications, 2D or 3D models, etc., graphic design primarily concentrates on static designs. The process by which designers digitally create graphics and effects that are shown on a screen, be it an iPad, computer, smartphone, or any other digital format. To enhance the images, digital designs can also incorporate sound effects, transitions, etc.
“Digital designs could also use audio and sound effects for better communication of visuals. Even though graphic design has been around longer than digital, it was mostly used for print media, book covers, magazines, brochures, etc. On the other hand, digital design has always been made to be used for digital devices” – ENOU Blog
“One thing that digital and graphic designers have in common is that they both provide visual communication, frequently associated with a concept, image, or brand. The designer aims to use symbols and visuals to communicate ideas and information to the audience in both situations. For the spectator, this visual communication conveys significance. Your audience’s emotions and memories can be evoked by images, which can strengthen connections and raise brand awareness.” – Designer Thuy Uyen
